Baptism Registration

Baptism for children younger than 7 yrs. old in English: Register at the office. Please bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Parents and Godparents need to attend a pre -Baptismal class. Godparents need to be practicing Catholics.

If the godparents are single, they must have the 3 sacraments, which are Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. Godparents must be able to confess and receive the body of Christ. They must be registered and active members at a Catholic Church. They must bring their I.D or passport as well as a letter of eligibility signed by the pastor of the church they attend, if not members here at St. Patrick’s.

A couple living in free union which means you live with your partner but neither one receives communion or goes to confession makes you ineligible to be a godparent. Being civilly married doesn’t make you eligible to be a godparent you must be married by the Catholic church.

Godparents who are married by the Catholic church must present a copy of their marriage certificate as well as their I.D. or passport and a letter of eligibility signed by the pastor of the church they attend, if they are not members here at St. Patrick’s.

Bautismos para niños(as) menores de 7 años en español: Inscribirse en la oficina. Por favor traer acta de nacimiento del niño(a). Los Padres y Padrinos tienen que asistir a una plática pre-Bautismal. Los padrinos tiene que ser Católicos Practicantes.

Si los padrinos son solteros, deben tener los 3 sacramentos que son Bautismo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación y que puedan confesarse y comulgar. Tienen que estar registrados en una parroquia, no tiene que ser aquí en San Patricio. Puede ser cualquier iglesia católica.

Una pareja que vive en unión libre, lo que significa que vives con tu pareja pero ninguno comulga ni se confiesa, te hace inelegible para ser padrino/madrina. Estar casado por lo civil no lo hace elegible para ser padrino, debe estar casado por la iglesia católica.

Los padrinos que estén casados por la iglesia católica deberán presentar copia de su acta de matrimonio así como su I.D. o pasaporte y una carta de elegibilidad firmada por el pastor de la iglesia a la que asisten, si no son miembros aquí en San Patricio.
